Eli was passive. He had a conversation with his sons. He did not plead with the Lord. We should be assertive, not passive.

1st Samuel 2:12
Eli's sons were wicked men; they had no regard for the Lord.

1st Samuel 3:8
So Samuel told him everything, hiding nothing from him. Then Eli said, "He is the Lord ; let him do what is good in his eyes."

3. Forgiveness to all

Jesus was not what the religious leaders of the day expected. We should long for God's grace to be extended to others.
